French Semillon Cadillac white wine casks grabbed the attention of Aberfeldy for the latest 15 Year Old addition to its Exceptional Casks Series
Aberfeldy continues its interest in wine casks from the world’s top wine regions with the addition of the 15 Year Old Cadillac White Wine Cask whisky to its Exceptional Casks Series. The new release joins the Bacardi-owned brand’s collection of single malts finished in wine casks.
Initially matured in a mix of refill barrels and refill Hogsheads, the 15-year-old Aberfeldy was then finished in French Semillon Cadillac white wine casks. The casks bestow yellow fruits, floral notes, citrus to the Scotch, bringing a balance of opulence and freshness.
The nose finds floral notes alongside aromas of ripe peach, nectarines, and creamy toffee. The palate delivers the brand’s signature honeyed character along with bursts of citrus and yellow fruits. The finish lingers with touches of cinnamon.
Created by Malt Master Stephaine Macleod, the Exceptional Casks Series began with the Red Wine Cask Collection, which included an 18 Years Old French Red Wine Cask, launched back in 2020, as well as the 15 Years Old Limited Edition Napa Valley Red Wine Cask, which hit shelves last summer.
Bottled at 43% ABV, Aberfeldy 15 Year Single Malt Cadillac Sweet White Wine Cask Finished is priced at $74.99 per 750ml bottle.
