Walking through the doors, your eyes will immediately gravitate towards the sweeping view of the Pacific Ocean that envelopes all who visit. The aesthetic is deeply inspired by our coveted coastal location, with residential-style furnishings reflecting soothing blues and greens and arranged for relaxation and conversation. Two fireplaces and art curated by Fine Art Advisor, Cynthia Greenwald, are also featured making it an elegant yet cozy atmosphere.

Slated to be a focal point for art and design in 2024, the destination is having a major moment in its own right. Home to the Frieze Los Angeles art fair, a leading international event that largely focuses on contemporary art and celebrates the dynamic Los Angeles culture, Santa Monica will welcome artists and collectors from around the world from February 29 – March 3, 2024.
Shutters on the Beach is an official partner of Frieze Los Angeles and boasts its own stunning modern art collection with featured works from renowned artists such as Roy Lichtenstein, Frank Gehry and Robert Motherwell.

A coveted location in Santa Monica, the Living Room attracts those who visit for a variety of occasions from casual meetups among friends to business meetings. Shutters is also renowned as a romantic location, and we see couples ranging from first dates to those celebrating anniversaries with a post-dinner night cap.
What’s your signature drink–or your favorite drink currently on the menu–and why should I order it?
Our current favorite drink is called Liquid Gold which features bourbon, lemon juice, honey syrup, whole milk and Barspoon Gold Luster Dust. Aside from its playful inclusion of edible gold, it’s the perfect drink for those who enjoy whiskey sours and herbaceous flavors.

Drinks cost between $18-$35.
Is there anything to eat? If so – what’s your favorite dish on the menu?
There is a wide selection of delicious bites on the Living Room menu, but a standout dish is the Lobster Roll which is served on a brioche bun with lemon aioli and shoestring fries.
