Larceny Barrel Proof A123 Starts The Bourbon Year Off With A Bang

Larceny Barrel Proof A123

Heaven Hill chose Larceny to strike 2023’s new release bourbon match, and boy did they ever light the fuse. Landing at 125.8 proof, the Larceny Barrel Proof A123 comes in respectably hot, making the first “big” whiskey release of the year worth noting.

Each year, Larceny releases three Barrel Proof bourbons. If you’re wondering why it’s named “A123,” the system is pretty straightforward. The first bottling gets labeled “A”, then the its the numeral that represents the month of the release, so “1” for January, and then the last two digits are the year, voila, A123.

Larceny Barrel Proof A123 features a mashbill of 68% corn, 20% wheat, and 12% malted barley. The tenth release in the series overall, this whiskey carries the second highest ABV so far.  On the palate, the bourbon delivers caramel, plum, oak, and vanilla.

The A123 is priced at $59.99 per bottle  For more information, head over to the brand’s official website.

Back in November, another Heaven Hill brand, Old Fitzgerald, rolled out its semi-annual Bottled-in-Bond release, which happened to be the oldest offering in the series so far, the 19-year-old Old Fitzgerald Fall 2022 Decanter Release Bottled-in-Bond Kentucky Straight Bourbon Whiskey.
