The 1933 Group is responsible for some of Los Angeles’ best classic drinking joints (Thirsty Crow, Bigfoot Lodge, Sassafras, The Formosa Cafe). West Los Angeles’ extension of the hospitality groups’ Bigfoot Lodge makes good whiskey and classic cocktails accessible to the less hip side of the tracks. There are great whiskey deals available as well as a large collection of bourbons and ryes, which makes this a must-stop for whiskey lovers living that Culver City life.

What’s the crowd like?
Twentysomething whiskey lovers looking to get a bit rowdy or have come together for some sort of reunion. There’s also a good crowd of regulars who know it’s one of the better places for good whiskey at a fair price on the Westside.
What am I drinking?
Whiskey, probably paired with a PBR or some other classic American beer in a can, or a classic whiskey cocktail.
Is there anything to eat?
Nope and since you’re in somewhat of a food desert, we suggest grabbing grub beforehand to allow you to enjoy more whiskey.
When should I get here?
If you’re looking for something on the wilder side, get to Bigfoot West at some point after dinner when things really start to get going. If you’re looking for something a bit quieter, get here on the early side and enjoy the happy hour specials.
Why am I here?
You’re here for the classic lodge vibes and the whiskey deals. There’s also plenty of space if you’ve got a large group, just remember to arrive early to avoid any lines.
