Angelina Jolie Sells Her 50% Share Of Miraval To Stoli Group

Angelina Jolie has sold her 50% share of Château Miraval to Tenute del Mondo – a subsidiary of the Stoli Group – for an undisclosed sum. The other half of the brand is owned by Jolie’s ex-husband Brad Pitt.

Best known for their Stolichnaya vodka, the Stoli Group has become a major player in the wine world over recent years. The company is a co-owner (alongside the Frescobaldi Family) of iconic wines such as Masseto, Ornellaia, Luce, CastelGiocondo, and the owner of Achaval Ferrer and Arínzano.

“With the addition of a rosé of this calibre we are well positioned to meet the exquisite demands of both customers and partners alike,” said Jon Pepper MW, managing director of Tenute del Mondo.

Damian McKinney, global CEO of Stoli Group, noted he has long been a fan of Miraval’s “exceptional” wines and brand and was excited to have a position alongside Brad Pitt. “We are truly honoured to do our part to uphold the integrity and commitment, as well as invest the time and passion evidenced in both the Château and the Miraval brand,” he said.

After completing the purchase, the Stoli Group will focus on building relationships with Pitt, who owns the remaining 50% stake in the Château through his company Quimcum, and he Perrin family, who co-owns the estate and manages the winemaking.

In July, it was first reported that Jolie had allegedly petitioned a judge to let her sell Château Miraval. According to a September report, Jolie allegedly tried to cut Pitt out of a deal involving the sale of Château Miraval in Provence, according to court papers filed in Luxembourg. As reported by Page Six, the actress has been accused of trying to sell her 50% stake in the $164 million estate in southern France without giving Pitt the opportunity of buying her out.

Jolie and Brad Pitt purchased the Provence wine estate in 2008 and its Miraval rosé has become one of the world’s top wines.
