Anno Distillers has launched Extreme 95, which is thought to be the world’s strongest Gin. The new offering from the English Distillers carries an insane ABV of 95%.
Anno Extreme 95 surpasses the previous record for “world’s strongest gin,” which was held by Twin River Distillery’s Naked Gin Uncut Edition at an ABV of 77%. Located on the banks of the River Deeside in Aberdeenshire, Scotland, the distillery’s high proof Gin held the record for over two years.
“It took a lot of experimentation and expertise, but we’re so proud of what we’ve achieved, without compromising on flavour,” said Anno Distillers co-founder Andy Reason. “With my 65th birthday coming just a few days before the launch, it’s not only a fantastic way for me to celebrate such a big milestone, but it is also great to be flying the flag for both Kent and Great Britain, with a world record.”
Extreme 95 Gin features a distinctively earthy nose, with powerful juniper and subtle citrus aromas. The palate offers robust juniper and smooth spices soften into a fresh bite of citrus with sweet herbal notes. The finish is described as long, dry and complex with hints of warm liquorice.
The vegan and vegetarian friendly offering is recommended served as a “light G&T,” using only 5ml of Anno Extreme 95 combined with Indian tonic water and garnished with a slice of grapefruit. “Just a 5ml measure gives you a full flavoured G&T with 75% less alcohol (versus a 50ml measure of 40% Alc/vol gin),” notes the distillery.
Anno Distillers Extreme 95 is available for purchase from the distillery’s online store for the price of £30 ($39 USD) per 200 200ml bottle. Each bottle is sold in a presentation box containing a 25ml measuring beaker, which is pretty much a necessity if you plan on making a cocktail with the world’s strongest Gin.
