Bacardi Launch ‘Real Rum Cocktails’ In A Can

Bacardi just unveiled their offering to the ready-to-drink cocktail Gods who seem poised to dominate our stoops, beaches, and barbeques once again this summer–if COVID-19 doesn’t shut everything down that is. The Cuban Rum schillers–whose headquarters are based in Bermuda–addition of the aluminum alcohol vessel field have been dubbed ‘Real Rum Cocktails’ and come in three flavors: Lime & Soda, Limon & Lemonade, and Rum Punch.

According to Bacardi, the Lime Soda has, “Natural and crisp lime flavor that radiates on the taste buds with aromas of lime zest and glistening bright citrus notes paired with bubbly soda water for a refreshing serve.” The Limon & Lemonade features, “fresh citrus taste from a blend of bold lemon flavor with hints of lime and grapefruit balanced with refreshingly sweet and tart lemonade.” And the Rum Punch is apparently, “A Caribbean sunset in a can offering a unique blend of naturally fresh pineapple, sweet orange, and ripe mango flavor with a hint of passionfruit.”

All three canned cocktail varieties are made with Bacardi Superior Rum; all natural flavors; cane sugar, natural juices or concentrates; and no artificial sweeteners. They come in at 5.9% ABV, which is pretty reasonable considering all things–like your friend’s tendency to chug a dozen Whiteclaw and then pass out on the lawn. The point is, it won’t cause anyone to make too much of a mess.

Barcardi’s Real Rum Cocktails are currently purchasable on Drizly–that’s right, you won’t even have to leave your house before sucking down these little aluminum bombs of Rum.

If Rum isn’t your thing, no worries, Absolut just announced a bevy of canned Vodka cocktails–six in total–or if you fancy yourself more of Gin guy or gal, Edinburgh Gin has unveiled Raspberry Gin Fizz cans (unfortunately it’s UK only at the moment, but we’re hoping that changes soon).

Either way, it’s shaping up to be another canned cocktail summer.
