Bacardi Reopens Bombay Sapphire and Dewar’s Distilleries To The Public

As of July 20, visitors will once again be able to visit Bacardi’s Bombay Sapphire and Dewar’s distilleries. Both sites were closed due to the coronavirus pandemic. Now that restrictions have begun to ease across the United Kingdom, the two sites have announced they will be opening with adapted health and safety measures in place.

Both the Bombay Sapphire Distillery at Laverstoke Mill in Hampshire, England, and the Dewar’s Aberfeldy Distillery in Scotland are ready to welcome guests, offering socially-distanced experiences for visitors. Visitors will be able to enjoy Gin and Whisky tastings as well as Gin cocktail masterclasses. Both sites, however, will be operating at a reduced capacity.

Temperature checks will be conducted on arrival and face masks, which will be provided, must be worn at all times. Hand sanitisation stations are located throughout each facility which have adapted their museums, bars, and gifts shops to adhere to the current health guidelines and protocols. All visitors must book reservations in advance and can do so by heading to Bombay’s official distillery website or the Dewar’s distillery website.

Anne Brock, Bombay Sapphire master distiller, said: “We’re absolutely thrilled to be reopening the Bombay Sapphire Distillery at Laverstoke Mill to the public. The health and safety of our visitors and staff are always our number one priority so we’ve been stringent about introducing new measures and procedures throughout the site to promote this. We’re looking forward to welcoming visitors back to the distillery and allowing people to discover more about our iconic gin in this idyllic Hampshire setting, right where we make every drop.”

Bombay Sapphire has been keeping busy as of recent. Last week, the brand tapped contemporary Chicago-based artist, Hebru Brantley to create the its first-ever artist-designed bottle for North America. In February, the company also released for new liqueurs.
