Beam Suntory Relocating Headquarters To New York

Beam Suntory Moving Headquarters To New York City

Beam Suntory is moving its global headquarters from Chicago, Illinois to New York City. The Jim Beam owners expect to complete the move by mid-2022.

Beam Suntory has entered into a long-term lease agreement for around 100,000 square feet of space at 11 Madison Avenue in Manhattan. The site will also serve as a joint office with Beam Suntory’s Japan-based parent company, Suntory Holdings.

“As one of the world’s greatest global cities, New York will provide a unique environment to help us accelerate our premiumisation strategy and growth plans,” said Albert Baladi, president and CEO of Beam Suntory. “We see excellent opportunities to immerse our company and global brand-building efforts more deeply in New York’s vibrant restaurant, bar and consumer environment, what we call the ‘gemba’.”

The New York Beam Suntory office is expected to open next year following structural and design work. Most of the company’s executive leadership team positions will have to relocate as part of the move.

The current Beam Suntory Chicago offices will become home to its North American arm as well as certain corporate roles and will remain the company’s largest office.

Baladi added: “As we look to the future, we anticipate returning to office-based work to enable the kind of collaboration we need to reach our growth ambitions,” added Baladi. “Cities clearly have an important role to play in the future of work, and while we will surely offer a higher degree of workplace flexibility, we will continue to build a strong presence in the key global cities that are closest to consumer trends and our customers.”

Other Beam Suntory offices are located in Tokyo–where Suntory Holdings has its headquarters–Los Angeles, Shanghai, Singapore, Sydney, Madrid, Frankfurt, London, and Delhi.

Beam Suntory’s brands include Jim Beam, Maker’s Mark, Laphroaig, Bowmore, Knob Creek, Basil Hayden’s, Hornitos, Courvoisier, Sipsmith, and many more.
