Bowmore has unveiled 10, 15, And 18 Year Old Whiskies as part of its collaboration with Aston Martin. The trio of Scotches will be released exclusively to global travel retail (GTR).

The Designed by Aston Martin collection offers consumers insight into the automotive world, paying homage to iconic cars from the brand’s heritage. Last August, the debuted the frist whisky in the collection, Black Bowmore DB5 1964.

“Our partnership with Aston Martin is a further example of how we are investing in the premiumisation of our GTR portfolio through a combination of exciting innovations and special limited editions,” said Manuel Gonzalez, brand director for global travel retail. “The Designed by Aston Martin collection continues to highlight the ambition that we have for the Bowmore brand and provides our clients with new concepts with strong consumer appeal, alongside vital growth opportunities.”

The design for Bowmore 10 Years Old is inspired by Aston Martin factory team car LM10, which debuted at the Le Mans race in 1932. The whisky delivers spice from Spanish oak casks and Bowmore’s iconic smoke flavors. According to the brand, LM10’s technical expertise is depicted in the design, which featured “cutting-edge” technology that reduced weight and accelerated speed.

Bowmore 15 Years Old, meanwhile, takes inspiration from the Aston Martin Atom concept car as the basis for its design. The whisky was matured in first-fill Bourbon casks and hogsheads, while the Atom offers a “disruptive and elegant” concept.

The Aston Martin DB Mark III is the core focus behind the design of Bowmore’s 18 Years Old due to shared values of attention to detail and complexity. The single malt was aged in oloroso and Pedro Ximénez casks.

“It has been fascinating to study the unique characteristics of each of these whiskies and align them with some incredible cars from our past” noted Cathal Loughnane, head of partnership, Aston Martin Lagonda. “Every Aston Martin has its own character and that is something we pay a great deal of attention to in the design process. This has been a new challenge for us and it is one we have enjoyed immensely.”

The first range from the Designed by Aston Martin series will be available in duty free globally beginning August 2021, with activations in key airports including London Heathrow, Frankfurt, Hainan, Istanbul and Taiwan.

The Bowmore 10 Years Old is priced at £45 ($63 USD), the Bowmore 15 Years Old costs £62 ($87 USD) and the 18-year-old comes in at £93 ($130 USD).
