Compass Box Adds Orchard House Blended Malt Scotch Whisky To Core Range

|

Compass Box has unveiled the latest addition to its signature range, Orchard House. The new fruit-forward and spirit-driven blended malt Scotch whisky is described as a “standout all-rounder.” It will be available across the United Kingdom from 1st September.

The Orchard House recipe is made from stocks of spirit purchased from distilleries renowned for their fruit-forward flavor. These spirits were then aged in a variety of Compass Box’s casks, which include ‘water-rinsed’ first fill ex-Bourbon barrels, Oloroso sherry-seasoned butts, and French oak custom barrels. The resulting blended malt Scotch whisky is creatively aligned with the artistry and innovation which Compass Box is known for.

Compass Box Orchard House delivers aromas of apple, pear, and peach with hints of peat, pineapple and Earl Grey tea. On the palate, the Blended Malt Scotch offers notes of apple juice, banana, honey, strawberry, and subtle peat. The finish is layered with vanilla, hints of cocoa powder and creaminess.

The brand recommends enjoying Orchard House on the rocks or paired with Chaource cheese.

“Orchard House is our first core range whisky produced from whiskies we have aged since the day they were distilled,” says Compass Box Founder and Whiskymaker John Glaser. “In a sense, it is more ‘our whisky’ than anything we’ve made before. We are so proud of this. Something new, something different for us. Something joyful. And delicious.”

Bottled at 46% ABV, Orchard House is priced at £42. For more information, head over to Compass Box’s official website.

Last month, Compass Box announced a new limited edition, Canvas Blended Malt Scotch Whisky, featuring whisky aged in Vino Naranja casks. The whisky is meant to artistically inspire consumers by engaging them through the opportunity to create their own label design.

In March, Compass Box launched Menagerie whisky, which is the Scotch whisky bottler’s “answer to the call of the wild.”
