Cutty Sark has added a new expression to its portfolio of whiskies, Cutty Sark 12 Years Old. The new expression from the La Martiniquaise-Bardinet-owned brand was officially launched in a one-litre bottle at the TFWA World Exhibition & Conference in Cannes, France.
Bottled at 40% ABV, Cutty Sark 12 Years Old is currently only available in duty free in the Middle East. Come March, however, a 700ml format will be made available in domestic markets.
“We are very excited to be launching the 12-year-old,” said Sylvia Bernard, international marketing director, La Martiniquaise-Bardinet. “Cutty Sark 12 has more Sherry notes than the original but still has that smoothness. The brand has huge awareness in a lot of countries. The 12 is our first step to build the foundations to recruit the next generation of Scotch consumers.”
Cutty Sark 12 Years Old is currently priced at £19.95 ($28 USD) and can be purchased via The Whisky Exchange.
La Martiniquaise-Bardinet acquired Cutty Sark from Edrington in 2018 for an undisclosed amount.
In June, Cutty Sark became an official corporate partner of London’s Royal Museums Greenwich. The ship that the brand is named after is one of the four museums comprising the organization, which also includes the National Maritime Museum, the Queen’s House, and the Royal Observatory.
