Dita Von Teese Unveils Sweet Gwendoline French Gin

Dita Von Teese has helped launch Sweet Gwendoline French Gin in the U.S. Inspired by the work of iconic fetish artist and publisher John Willie, the new gin comes a partnership between “The Queen of Burlesque” and spirits industry veteran Larry McGearty, who previously led the team that created Sailor Jerry Rum.

Sourced in the South of France and infused with fig and six additional botanicals (juniper, cardamon, coriander, angelica, lime, and sweet orange), Sweet Gwendoline uses French white wine to provide the gin with a unique, citrus finish.

The bottle displays an image of a burlesque dancer, inspired by the work of Willie. “I have a passion for the artistry associated within subcultures,” commented McGearty. “Sweet Gwendoline French Gin is a result of the lifelong appreciation I have for the fetish artistry of John Willie. This gin has been 10 years in the making and is now here for your enjoyment.”

“The world of John Willie’s Sweet Gwendoline is playfully risqué, with distinctive characters who have long fascinated me, and continue to inform my style, both on and offstage,” commented Von Teese. Adding, “”John Willie is always with me in artistic spirit. He is one of my greatest inspirations, and now the playfully risque spirit of one of his greatest heroines — Sweet Gwendoline — has been brought to life in our own beautiful spirit.”

Sweet Gwendoline aims to reimagine the way gin is consumed by not requiring extra mixers to enhance the flavors of the spirit.

Bottled at 40% ABV, the gin retails at $39.99 and is available in New York, California, Texas, Colorado, Florida, Illinois, and Wisconsin, as well as online for shipping to 30 states and Washington, DC.
