English Whisky Company Releases 15 Year Old Bottling

English Whisky 15 Year Old Bottle and Box

The English Whisky Company has launched a 15 Year Old whisky to celebrate its 15th anniversary. The bottling was first laid down when the brand was founded.

Aged in an ex-oloroso demi-muid cask from the founder’s private cellar, the 15-year-old single malt is said to be the oldest publicly available English whisky on the market. It is described as “dark and oily” and offers aromas of dates, raisins, and sultanas. The palate delivers cherries, chocolate, and figs with a hint of ginger.

English Whisky 15 Year Old

“In 2005, our founder James Nelstrop decided to fulfill his lifelong dream to open a whisky distillery; within a year he had built England’s first registered whisky distillery in over a century, and the still were flowing without wonderful spirit,” said Director Andrew Nelstrop. “Since then, out single malt whisky has been maturing in the very finest oak casks.

“We launch this autumn our oldest release to date, a 15-year-old that has been matured in a beautiful bespoke Sherry cask. This sublime single cask bottling is testament to the quality of whisky produced by The English Whisky Co and a celebration of our founder’s dream to make whisky in England.”

Bottled at 57.6% ABV, just 572 bottles of the English Whisky Company 15 Year Old are available and are priced at £295 ($320 USD) per bottle.
