Filliers Barrel Aged Genever 8 Years Old was ranked the world’s top Genever by the 2020 International Wine & Spirits Competition. The Belgian distillery’s spirit was awarded an Outstanding Gold, the only Genever at the annual spirits competition to receive the designation.
“Cinder toffee flavours of rich bourbon. Shows the beauty and elegance of masterful cask aging- and drinks way beyond its youth suggests,” noted the judges about the expression. “Gentle heat brings a malty core, caramel sticky sweetness and perfumed orange blossom. Inspired luxuriousness.”
It was an excellent spirits competition for Filliers’ overall as they also picked up silver medals for their 17 Year Old Aged Genever and for their Classic 28 Dry Gin.
