Four Pillars is releasing its first ready-to-drink (RTD) product, Rare Dry Gin & Tonic, to be sold in a 250ml four-pack.
Awarded the International Gin Producer of the Year by the IWSC two years running (2019 and 2020), Four Pillars has created the RTD using their signature Rare Dry Gin and a bespoke tonic.
To keep alcohol volumes to one standard drink per can while not compromising on the gin flavour, Four Pillars’ Co-founder and Distiller Cam Mackenzie distilled a hyper-concentrated version of the original Four Pillars Rare Dry Gin using essentially twice as many of the exact same botanicals, with a few extra fresh organic oranges thrown in to replicate their signature orange garnish.
The tonic was designed by Cam and the team to perfectly match the clean, spicy, and citrus-forward Rare Dry Gin.
“It’s Rare Dry Gin on steroids,” says Mackenzie. “We set out to make a gin and tonic, not a tonic and gin, so the ratios were really important. We had our hyper-concentrated, flavour-packed Rare Dry Gin and we needed a tonic that complemented but didn’t dominate it. So, we made a tonic inspired by a few of our favourites that did just that.
“Next, we tinkered and toiled and tasted many, many times because we realised that if we were to release a Four Pillars G&T in a can, we wanted it to be the best in the business. So that’s what we hope we’ve made. It is our Rare Dry Gin & Tonic, ready to go and as good as we can make it. Delicious, clean, refreshing and just the right balance of sweet, sour and bitter.”
Four Pillars’ RTD Gin & Tonics are best served icy cold straight from the can,
Coming in at 5.1% ABV, Four Pillars Rare Dry Gin & Tonic cans are priced at $27.99 per four pack.
Available from the Gin Shops at the Four Pillars Healesville Distillery and Four Pillars Surry Hills Laboratory and at Dan Murphy’s, Vintage Cellars, Ritchie’s and any good liquor store from October 2021. FOr more information, head over to the brand’s official website.
