Take That frontman Gary Barlow has launched his own wine range, Gary Barlow Organic. The new collection features two bottlings, a red and a white, which are both made in Spain.
Gary Barlow teamed up with Benchmark Drinks to make his Organic range. The range has been crafted and developed over the last two years and features blends originated in Spain. The wines both come in distinctive packaging featuring a piano key design in a nod to Gary’s musical accomplishments.
“The definition of a great evening for me is friends, laughter and good wine,” said Barlow. “I’ve been fortunate enough to have travelled and experienced different cultures over the years and wines from across the world. After months of learning about the process and tasting different blends, I’m very proud to now launch my own range of organic wines from Spain.”
Paul Schaafsma, MD Benchmark Drinks, added: “It has been a privilege to partner with Gary Barlow and help bring his dream alive, to launch his own range of organic wines.”
The wines have been produced by Peninsula Wines in Spain, who are known for their sustainability and “sympathetic winemaking”, meaning they produce the drink with as little intervention as possible.
Gary Barlow Organic Red is a blend of 2020 Tempranillo and Syrah that doesn’t see oak to allow the purity of fruit to shine through. Juicy and fruit-driven, it offers aromas of “ red wild berries with a touch of rosemary and chocolate.”
The white is a blend of Verdejo and Viura from the 2020 vintage. Fermented in stainless steel, it spent two months on its lees before bottling. The wine offers “aromas of lime and pear cut by a gentle note of anise” with a “zesty, lingering lime palate.”
The Gary Barlow Organic range will be available exclusively in Morrisons beginning October 9 and from the brand’s official website for £8.00.
