Havana Club has unveiled Tributo 2021, the sixth edition in a limited edition rum collection. The Tributo series was launched in 2016 to celebrate the “unrivalled excellence” of Cuban rum.
The 2021 edition of the Havana Club Tributo Collection was created with reserves from previous Tributo releases, blended with a rum taken from a batch of 100 exclusive casks that have never been made available commercially. It was then finished in white port casks from the Douro Valley, Portugal. Bottled at 40% ABV, the rum was crafted by Havana Club’s master of Cuban rum, Asbel Morales.
The resulting rum is a marriage between blend and barrel, delivering a delectably rounded flavor enhanced by subtle hints of grapes, nuts, and coffee, encapsulating the art of this expression.
On the nose, the rum is aromatic, without being aggressive, offering notes of cane honey intertwined with raisins and red fruits, which give way to smooth dry fruits and floral hints for the final nose. On the palate, it is exceptionally intense and complex, featuring a subtle bouquet with balance and personality in the mouth. Mastered balance between dry fruits and ripe nuts combines with more classical sweet chocolate and spice hints. The finish is long and smooth with pleasant tobacco and coffee flavors that last for minutes.
The luxurious rum is presented in a dark wooden box that distinguishes the opulence of the collection with alluring golden and olive-green accents reflecting the colors of Portugal where the distinctive barrels were derived from. Each bottle is numbered and personalised with Maestro del Ron Cubano, Asbel Morales signature.

The Havana Club Tributo 2021 is available in 15 international markets, retailing at €400 ($475 USD).
