Sitting among the old factories that rust across from Los Angeles State Historic Park, Highland Park Brewery offers locally brewed suds in one of L.A.’s quickest developing areas. Life has sprung anew in the East Chinatown neighborhood over the last few years, and HPB has established itself as one of the go-to spots for drinks and good times.

The space is large and open, making it perfect for large groups, and exposed brick and beams work well with the neighborhood’s hip set. Highland Park Brewery started out with a small space at The Hermosillo bar on York, but moved into its new digs in spring 2018, and hasn’t looked back.

Since its humble beginnings, the brewery has become recognized nationally, winning awards for its beer at the highest national levels. At their Chinatown space, visitors will find 12 Highland Park brews on tap as well as a few “guest” beers and a selection of bottles and cans that can also be purchased to go. From barrel-aged Sour Ales and coconut IPAs to German-style Pilsners and coffee Stouts, Highland Park Brewery’s wide variety of offerings make sure aficionados and newbies alike will be able to find something that fits their palate.

Food is available as well, making the brewery a perfect stop for those looking to take their time while sampling their way through the beer menu. Bread and cheese, corn dogs, salads, and a fish sandwich make sure any palette is happy, and there is even a small brunch menu that is served from 10am to noon on Sundays.

Anyone looking for delicious suds and group-friendly confines will be happy to find their way into Highland Park Brewery. The beers are some of the nation’s best and the food menu will more than just help coat your stomach for the day of tasting that lays ahead.
