Inside The World’s Most Exclusive Wine Club That Costs Six Figures To Join, The Vines

The Vines

Those looking for elite travel experiences that combine unique destinations with a love of wine should look toward The Vines. An exclusive explorer’s club and the first worldwide community dedicated to winemaking, members of The Vines travel to the world’s most storied winemaking regions, learning the craft from master practitioners and creating their own unique vintage.

“We are people who wanted to find an authentic way to navigate the world through learning the winemaking craft from the greatest winemakers, and low-imprint immersion into the local culture and food,” says the club.

Launched in early 2020 by Michael Evans, founder of luxury resort and private vineyard The Vines of Mendoza in Argentina, The Vines winemaking club is by invitation only. It has outposts and partners in seven regions around the world, including Champagne, Mendoza, Montalcino, Napa Valley, Priorat, The Mosel, and Willamette Valley, and expect to grow to 12 regions in the next five years.

In addition to traveling the world, members of The Vines are sent cases of wine throughout the year and are offered access to curated events centered around wine, food, culture and adventure. In addition to winemaking, the club is also offering members a series of pop-ups like making Sake in Japan and Mezcal in Oaxaca.

Initiation fees are $100,000 and annual dues are $1,500- $3,000 per quarter. Winemaking costs per barrel range from $7,000 to $37,000 based on site.
