Jack Daniel’s has unveiled the latest addition to its Single Barrel Collection, Jack Daniel’s Barrel Proof Rye. The new offering sees the Brown-Forman-owned brand adding a permanent higher-ABV rye whiskey to the series.
Made from a grain bill of 70% rye, 18% corn, and 12% malted barley, Jack Daniel’s Barrel Proof Rye aged in new, American white oak barrels. The whiskey delivers aromas of rich caramel and toasted fruits on the nose, with a peppery rye finish.
“The combination of our unique rye grain bill and barrel house locations make for a special rye whiskey that perfectly balances bold and smooth,” said Chris Fletcher, Jack Daniel’s master distiller. “We’ve offered our rye whiskey at barrel strength through special limited releases in the past, and the responses from the whiskey community have been overwhelmingly positive. Now we’re excited to have our Barrel Proof Rye as a permanent part of our whiskey offerings to give even more of our friends a chance to try this special expression.”
The proof varies between 125 and 145 (62.5-72.5% ABV) depending on the barrel, but each 750ml bottle of Jack Daniel’s Barrel Proof Rye carries a price tag of $59.99. For more information, head over to the brand’s official website.
