Loch Lomond Launches Forrit Hard Seltzer Range

|

Loch Lomond has launched its first hard seltzer range, Forrit, which means “forward” in Scots. The new RTD offerings join the independent Scotch distillery’s quickly expanding lineup.

The Loch Lomond Forrit range of hard seltzers combine distilled alcohol blended with sparkling water and natural botanicals, and launches with three flavor combinations: Peach, Lemon & Mint; Watermelon, Lime & Basil; and Strawberry, Rhubarb & Ginger.

Presented in slim 330ml cans with an ABV of 4.5%, Forrit is a zero-sugar, zero-carb alcoholic sparkling water, perfect for consumers looking for something light and refreshing with a botanic twist. Each serving is vegan and gluten free, and only 90 calories.

The range has been pre-launched on Instagram, with ‘Tryit’ packs featuring the trio of flavors, as well as 12-pack single flavor cases available to purchase online at Forrit’s official website and delivered straight to customers’ doors.

The hard seltzer market has been booming in the United States, resonating with consumers looking for alcoholic drinks that are refreshing and flavorful but also low calorie and low sugar, and this trend is now also gathering momentum in the United Kingdom.

“Forrit is for the forward-thinking consumer looking to try something new, and with the hard seltzer market gathering momentum in the UK now is a great time to launch this new range,” said Calum Leslie, Innovation Director at Loch Lomond Group. “With Forrit, customers can enjoy a lower calorie drink without having to sacrifice that all-important flavour. The natural botanicals infused with our fruit blends add an extra dimension to our range, making Forrit an exciting new offering for consumers to enjoy.”

Each can is priced at £2 RRP. For trade customers, the 12-pack case is priced at £13.99 (ex VAT) and is available now from HT Drinks and United Wholesale Grocers.

Back in October, Loch Lomond added 21 and 30 Year Old Single Malt Scotch Whiskies to its core range. Master Blender Michael Henry crafted both expressions using spirit from Loch Lomond’s straight necked pot stills.
In August, the distillery debuted new packaging for its single malt Scotch Whisky range. The Highland distillery’s redesigned look finds the brand delivering a more contemporary aesthetic alongside simple flavor descriptors.
