While the history of the drink and its origins are a bit hazy, we can all agree that good punch is worth celebrating. In the Spanish capital, Punch Room at The Madrid EDITION salutes the cocktail style and its history with its entire menu, but the Ponche del Socialista is the true star of the show.

Ingredients and measurements:

  • Diplomatico Res. Exclus. 20 ml
  • Pimm’s 20 ml
  • Mancino chinato 20 ml
  • Cardamaro 20 ml
  • Bergamot puree 10 ml
  • Pomegranate juice 20 ml
  • Lemon sherbet 20 ml
  • Roiboos tea 60 ml

Directions:
Pour all the ingredients in a shaker and throw it 3 times

Glassware:
Highball

Garnish:
Pineapple leaf origami, mini pensy flower

How to make syrups/infusions/bitters/etc.

LEMON SHERBET:

  • White sugar 900 gr
  • Lemon wheels 500 gr
  • Ginger slices 225 gr
  • Lemon juice 1 Lt

PROCESS:

Peel and thinly slice the ginger, toss the lemon and ginger with the sugar and rest until the sugar is saturated, if is in a vacuum bag is better, then stir the lemon juice until the sugar is dissolved, so strain with chinois.
