Mama Shelter Lisbon opened only a couple months ago, but it has already made a name for itself as one the city’s hippest hotels. And things are only getting better, the space has now unveiled its rooftop bar, which offers some of the best views in the city.
Located in gorgeous Príncipe Real, just up the street from rollicking Bairro Alto, Mama Shelter Lisboa is the newest location from the Paris-based hotel chain. The space is a convenient 10-minute walk to some of the city’s most popular attractions, including Eduardo VII Park, the Botanical Garden, and tree-lined Liberdade Avenue.
The eight-floor hotel offers 130 guest rooms designed by the in-house Mama Design Studio. It’s all very modern and playful with a focus on sustainability, think recycled bottle stoppers for tabletops, cork framed smart TVs, and lampshades made out of local straw. Beautiful rooms feature bold pops of color, bringing to life the energy of the surrounding neighborhood.
The rooftop sprawls across the ninth floor and offers panoramic views of the city. There, visitors can enjoy cocktails, live DJ sets from Thursday through Saturday evenings, and order light bites.

In February, Hilton announced the launch of The Emerald House Lisbon, Curio Collection by Hilton, marking the debut of Curio Collection by Hilton in the Portuguese capital. The 67-room property is nestled among historic palaces and charming churches, with rooms giving way to breathtaking views of the River Tagus and city itself, perched across the seven hills that make up Lisbon.
