Monkey 47 has teamed up with A Bathing Ape (Bape) to launch a limited edition bottle and capsule collection. The German gin brand’s “wunderbar” jungle print has been merged with the iconic Japanese streetwear brand’s camouflage design to create a five-part lifestyle collection that encompasses their individual identities and creative stories.
Each piece in the forthcoming collection adopts a new original design. The print features a technicolor jungle with dapper monkeys layered under lush palms, exotic flowers and camo spots in three vivid tones of green, pink, and blue. The five products from the partnership have been rolled out on a limited basis and include a newly-designed Monkey 47 Schwarzwald Dry Gin; a hoodie; a T-shirt; a Hawaiian shirt; and a skateboard.
“Innovation and collaboration is at the very heart of both brands, and for Monkey 47 experimentation with new flavours, aromas and partners is part of our DNA,” said Alexander Stein, founder of the gin brand. “As a hand-crafted gin, we know how important it is for the end product to be a labour of love, and we’re hugely excited to be bringing our expertise from the world of gin to fashion.”
The Monkey 47 Schwarzwald Dry Gin x Bape is limited to 500 bottles in the UK, and priced at £56.99 ($72 USD).
The clothing is priced from £95 ($120 USD) to £295 ($371 USD). It is available in-store from Selfridges on Oxford Street, London, and online at the department store’s official website as well as Monkey 47’s website.
