The New York Rum Festival is returning for its fifth year. Taking place on June 18 at Metropolitan Pavilion in Chelsea, the one day event will feature around 160 different rums from 40 brands.
Along with the simply staggering amount of spirits, the New York Rum Festival will feature seminars from many of the industry’s top experts that cover everything from Mexican rums to techniques for sipping rum.
Eric Kaye from Holmes Cay and Worthy Park Estate’s Alexander Kong will host a seminar entitled “Yet to be Discovered Rums,” which will offer consumers the chance to learn and taste rums that are under consideration for release.
The festival will be split into three sessions, including a trade and media tasting from 2pm to 3:30pm ($45), a VIP tasting session from 2pm to 7:30pm ($95), and general admission entry from 4:30pm to 7:30pm ($75). Joint tickets for two people to enter the VIP or general admission session are also on offer.
Those heading to the festival with no plans on drinking can purchase a “designated driver pass” for $20, which allows entry from 4pm to 7pm.
In addition to its New York event, the Rum Lab hosts rum festivals across the US, in cities such as Miami, Chicago, Seattle, San Francisco, and Los Angeles.
