OCTO Brings Berkeley Square A Hidden Cocktail-Den Inspired By The Amazon

OCTO Amazónico Berkeley Square

Berkeley Square’s Latin American restaurant Amazónico has unveiled its very own dedicated cocktail lounge and late-night bar, OCTO. Hidden beyond their kitchen, down a golden-clad staircase, the bar is an intimate and discreet space which serves creative cocktails, rare  spirits, premium wines, and exclusive dishes that cannot be found in the restaurant.

Inspired by the South American cenotes that lie beneath the Amazon River, OCTO takes guests on a voyage into unchartered waters with its unique design, theatrical drinks, exotic  dishes, and spirited sounds without ever leaving London

The bar team devised a drinks list featuring a range of cocktails presented in ornate  glassware and made with tropical ingredients served from a gilded bar. ‘Signatures’ include the Sea-Tron with Ciroc Vodka, Cointreau, Tropical Fruits, finished with Ruinart Blanc de Blanc; and OCTO’s take on a classic Manhattan, The Ritual, with Zacapa XO Rum, Mancino Chinato,  Pussanga with notes of Coffee and Brazilian Bitters. Others drinks featured on the menu include the El Tulipan, made with Hendrick’s Neptunia Gin, Kumquat Liqueur, Camu Camu Jam, Passion Fruit Kombucha & Sea Flowers Blossom; and the Club Sazerac, combining Whistle Pig 10-year-old Whiskey, Hennessy  XO, Coconut, Saffron and Pineapple, both solely available in OCTO.

Amazonico’s head of bars Giannis Apostolopoulos says, “At Amazónico we’re known for showcasing the flavours and ingredients that are typically found in Latin America and The Rainforest. This ethos has been at the heart of the OCTO cocktail programme – experimenting with a range of vibrant flavours from the region served in playful and unique vessels – in typical Amazónico style!”

Amazónico’s Executive Chef Vitelio Reyes created an inventive menu available every evening until 11pm. DIshes include snack-sized Arepas stuffed with marinated Purple Prawns, Citrus, and Chilli; as well as Chicharron made with Tempura Sea Bass in a Brioche Bun, topped with Spicy Mayo and Chilean Pebre. OCTO will also serve a selection of their signature nigiri and sashimi alongside their Lomi Lomi Maki, Ora King Salmon filled with Avocado, Coriander, Salmon Roe and Langoustine Pibil, Prawn Tempura, Teriyaki Sauce & Achiote Miso.

Each evening, from 8 pm until late, OCTO’s resident DJs Andy Faisca, Tony Cortez and Trys will take to the decks, mixing their signature elec-tropical beats with laid-back House and touches of vocal Jazz. As the night continues OCTO will progress into an energetic mix of Deep Tech House and NU-Disco.

For those looking to celebrate something special or out with a group of friends, dive further into the deep and discover various drink packages, inclusive large format Champagnes and spirits.

OCTO will be open and bookable Tuesday to Saturday until 9:30pm, after 9:30pm it’s guestlist only. The food menu will be available until 11pm each evening. Booking is available by email or telephone. For more information, head over to the official website.
