Penrhos Spirits Launches First Rum Made With Honey From The Penrhos Farm

|

Using fresh ingredients grown on one fruit farm by family-farmers who have joined together in the pursuit of delicious spirits, Penrhos Spirits has introduced the first rum release to its collection of premium, small-batch spirits. Using honey from the apiaries of Penrhos Farm, in Herefordshire, this new release pays tribute to the bees of the farm, without which none of the Penrhos Spirits could be crafted.

Infused with orange & lemon peel, cloves, cinnamon, black peppercorns, allspice, & nutmeg, along with the signature honey, the spirit is hand-blended at the Penrhos farm.

The first ever non-gin based spirit to be released from Penrhos Spirits, the launch comes as golden rum sales have been tipped to grow by 33% in 2021*. Penrhos Honey Spiced Rum has been created both to answer this rising consumer demand, and as a tribute to the bees of Penrhos farm.

As part of the launch, Penrhos Spirits is also teaming up with Beevive, portable bee revival kits, available as part of a bundle with 5cl Honey Spiced Rum & Ginger Beer £15.00.

Speaking about the new drink, Richard Williams, Farmer & Co-Founder Penrhos Spirits, comments: “Last year, we witnessed a huge increase in popularity in the UK for rum, in part driven by all the home bars springing up. We’d been discussing launching a rum for a while, and there felt like no better time to introduce our Honey Spiced Rum to the collection, hot off the back of our successful non-alcoholic launch in 2020. We’re excited to be entering another spirits category, and at the same time, championing the bees who are so important to our livelihood & time on the farm.”

Bottled at 37.5% ABV, Penrhos Honey Spiced Rum will be launched on 30th April 2021 and is now available from PenrhosSpirits.co.uk for £37.50 per 70cl bottle and £4.99 for 5cl bottles.
