Rémy Martin is celebrating Earth Month by launching a new limited-edition Cognac, L’Étape. The rare brandy serves as a “symbol of a sustainable future,” says the brand.
The unveiling of Rémy Martin L’Étape is the latest effort in the House’s commitment to sustainability. L’Étape is a unique blend of 14 aux-de-vie coming exclusively from Grande and Petite Champagne, rigorously selected by Cellar Master Baptiste Loiseau, and in partnership with 19 winegrowers.
The 19 winegrowers who worked to produce the eaux-de-vie have all been awarded the “High Environmental Value“ (“HVE”) certification, a label given by the Ministry of Agriculture in recognition of the implementation of sustainable agricultural practices.
“This project is representative of our balance: always wanting to improve our practices, while maintaining the excellence of our cognac,” said Loiseau.
On the nose, L’Étape is fresh, expressing subtle fruit notes of apricot, nectarine, and quince; followed by oaky aromas, including cedar wood, vanilla, and brioche. The palate delivers delicate vanilla flavors with oaky toasted notes, cinnamon, and a hint of liquorice, alongside nectarine, and pineapple. The body is deep and intense with a lingering, spicy finish.
The 35cl bottle features an emblematic design of the Cognac region, and arrives without secondary packaging to limit the carbon footprint. The labels feature the signs of this approach: the first names of the winegrowers, a map of Grande and Petite Champagne, the numbering and a QR code allowing purchasers to pursue the experience and discover the stories of these committed women and men.
Additionally, Rémy Martin is applying International Dark Sky Association specifications to its estates, especially at Les Martins. As a partner, the brand is also participating in International Dark Sky Week (April 22-30) where they are raising awareness on what we can each do to further the mission of reducing light pollution.

In February, Rémy Martin announced Volume 2 of its new limited-edition VSOP Cognac bottle, which pays homage to the excellence of mixtape music culture in the 1980’s.
