Russell’s Reserve Unveils 13 Year Old Limited-Edition Bourbon

|

Russell’s Reserve has introduced Russell’s Reserve 13 Year Old Barrel Proof, a 57.4% ABV Kentucky Straight Bourbon. The one-of-a-kind, limited-edition whiskey comes out at barrel proof and is not chill filtered.

“Crafting Russell’s Reserve 13 Year Old turned out to be one of my most rewarding experiences as a distiller,“ said Master Distiller Eddie Russell, who celebrates 40 years of bourbon making at the Wild Turkey Distillery this year. “This release embodies our commitment to creating uniquely satisfying flavors, and, hands down, it’s one of our most rare bourbons.”

“Russell’s Reserve 13 Year Old pays tribute to the distillery’s heritage and the legacy pioneered by venerated Master Distiller Jimmy Russell while showcasing Eddie’s innovative talents and expert ability to develop supreme flavors through careful aging and a keen sense for identifying only the highest quality barrels,” says the brand.

The whiskey offers flavors of plum, chocolate, and toasted brown sugar. At the beginning, dried dark fruit and charred confectionary notes coat the palate. Those sweet and woody notes give way to rich flavors of honey, chocolate and nougat throughout, followed by a strong and lasting finish.

Russell’s Reserve 13 Year Old is the latest addition to the Russell’s Reserve lineup, which boasts of bourbon and rye whiskies, and is part of Wild Turkey’s stable of top-of-the-line American whiskeys.

The whiskey is recommended enjoyed neat or on the rocks and will be available across the United States for $69.99 per bottle for a limited time only.

In October, Wild Turkey Distillery launched Russell’s Reserve 2003 Bourbon. The limited-edition whiskey was hand-selected by Master Distiller Eddie Russell and will never be released again.

Last July, the distillery released Wild Turkey Rare Breed Rye, adding a new premium whiskey option to the Campari-owned brand’s rafter.
