The Slap me Silly is a milk punch-style cocktail from Copenhagen’s Duck and Cover featuring lemon, blueberry, Campari, and banana liqueur
While milk punch has become a go-to for hip cocktail bars over the last decade, the Duck and Cover Slap me Silly is a Scandinavian style sipper that pushes the boundaries of the beverage. Its slightly bitter and fruity flavor profile centers around akvavit, but ingredients from the Mediterranean, the tropics, and beyond give it a unique twist.
Owner Kasper Riewe-Høgh tells us…
Name the cocktail.
“Slap me Silly”
What inspired the name? What’s this drink’s origin story?
The name was what I first said when I tried the cocktail, being surprised over the way the flavours worked together despite being an odd match on paper. The expression is probably used wrong – but well… Now that’s the name 🙂
The drink was made by Bonnie, our bar manager, for our fall menu 2023.
What other drinks belong in its family?
Technically, it’s a milk punch.
If you like Milk Punches and slightly bitter and fruity drinks you should try this drink.
What food is this cocktail best served with?
I recommend wine or beer for food – cocktails before and after ☺
