Sran Spirits Launches Daru Whiskey, A Canadian Whiskey With Indian Roots

|

This past week, Sran Spirits launched their first product, Daru Whiskey. The brand new Indian-inspired Canadian Whiskey comes from Andy and Sonny Sran, brothers and co-founders of Sran Spirits. Together, they strive to use centuries of tradition to create a modern taste.

The charcoal-filtered single malt was aged for a minimum of three years in oak barrels and is made from a 100% Canadian corn mash. According to the distillery, Daru Whiskey features an intense bouquet with notes of fruit and a delicate sweetness. The spirit is smooth upon entry and has a strong finish.

“We’re beyond excited for Daru Whiskey,” said Sonny upon the product’s release. “This product has been much-anticipated and has been a long time in the making, so we’re grateful to be able to share our first spirit with the world.”

Andy noted, “This is a huge milestone for us. The plan is to first aggressively pursue the U.S. market first, and then expand Daru’s global footprint in parts of Europe and Asia in early 2021.”

Coming in at 45% ABV, Daru Whiskey is available for pre-order via Liquorama for $34.99.

Daru Whiskey is the first of what is expected to be many spirits that is expected to come from the Sran Spirits brand. The brothers started the company back in 2019, but can trace their spirits making heritage back generations. Their father, used to distill spirits of his own in his native India, and today, the brothers continue his legacy by developing high-quality, premium spirits for the world to enjoy.

It’s been a surprisingly busy start to summer in the Canadian Whiskey world. Back at the end of May, the world’s first botanical Canadian whisky hit the shelves. Created by Forty Creek Whisky, The Forager Botanical Whisky is the first of its kind and is made to reflect the natural elements of Canada’s vast wilderness.
