Sullivans Cove Debuts Two Single Casks Aged In Ex-Tawny French Oak

Sullivans Cove TD0404 and TD0311

Sullivans Cove has launched two first-fill French oak ex-Tawny single cask whiskies: TD0404 and TD0311. Both releases earned high marks for texture, taste, and balance from the Sullivans Cove tasting panel.

The TD0404 is matured for 8 years and 9 months in a first-fill 200L ex-Tawny French oak cask. The whisky boasts notes of Black Forest gateau, mandarin, creme caramel, cinnamon baked green apples, and sticky date sauce. The unique cask influence combined with Sullivan’s Cove traditional fruit and mineral characteristics, creates a strong depth to the bottling.

The TD0311 is matured for 13 years and 8 months in a first-fill 225L ex-Tawny, French oak cask. On the nose, it offers aromas of macadamia oil, butterscotch candies, and apothecary aromas. The palate displays notes of apricot, peach, and salted butterscotch. These flavors are combined with sticky dates, hazelnuts, and damson plums from the tawny, with final notes of ancient spices and dark chocolate from the oak cask.

The whiskeys will be released by ballot and will open for 24 hours from 10am Hobart time on Tuesday 23rd of August. Only 318 bottles of the TD0404 and 276 bottles of the TD0311 will be made available.
