Teeling Distillery Exclusive Series Adds Red Wine Chestnut Cask Irish Whiskey

Teeling Red Wine Chestnut Cask Distillery Exclusive

Teeling has unveiled its latest Distillery Exclusive, the Red Wine Chestnut cask whiskey. Using its Teeling Small Batch blend as a base, the Distillery Exclusive series focuses on introducing new flavors into Irish Whiskey through experimentation and innovation.

The Teeling Distillery Exclusive Red Wine Chestnut cask has been matured initially in ex-Bourbon barrels, before being given a secondary maturation in Red Wine Chestnut barrels, and bottled at 46% ABV with no chill filtration.

Vibrant notes of dried fruits and roasted nuts open on the nose, giving way to subtle oak tannins, salted caramel, and dark chocolate. On the palate, thick honey sweetness, bursts of butterscotch, and soft tannins intermingle with peppercorn and dried apricot. The medium dry finish finds fresh bright fruits, cinnamon, and spice.

In the Distillery Exclusive series, the brand focuses on atypical and rare casks with previous releases in the series having been matured in Chestnut, Hungarian Oak, Chinkapin, and most recently Irish Oak.

The Distillery Exclusive Red Wine Chestnut Cask will be available to purchase only in the distillery Gift Shop and Online Shop, as well as to sample at its Distillery Bang Bang Bar.

Earlier this month, Teeling unveiled a 15-Year-Old Single Grain Irish whiskey. The new release follows in the footsteps of the distiller’s 13-Year-Old Single Grain.
