Tequila Partida is launching Partida Roble Fino, a new luxury line of sipping Tequilas. Only 7,200 bottles of Roble Fino, which translates to “Fine Oak”, will be made available.
Partida Roble Fino Tequilas combine Partida’s Tequila with Edrington’s (owners of Single Malt Scotches The Macallan, Highland Park and The Glenrothes) cask management. Coming to market September 16, Roble Fino includes a Reposado, Añejo, and the world’s first-ever whisky sherry oak finished Reposado Cristalino.
Back in 2018, Partida’s Maestro Tequilero, José Valdez, visited Scotland for the first time and immediately felt the connection to the home of the world’s finest single malts. After touring and tasting through Scotland’s top distilleries, he came up with idea for Partida Roble Fino and the desire to finish his Tequila in the world’s most sought-after casks. Affectionately known as “The Single Malt of Tequila” by Valdez and his team, Roble Fino marries these distinct flavors while maintaining Partida’s agave flavor.
“After my visit to Scotland, I wanted to explore how I can combine these four corners of the world: the volcanic red soil from Mexico, bourbon barrels from the US and Scotland’s single malt barrels finished in Oloroso casks from Jerez de la Frontera,” says Maestro Tequilero José Valdez. “Balancing the journey from Mexico to Scotland and Spain required a great amount of taste testing and in the end, we’ve created an incredible agave-forward spirit, double aged in American oak and Spanish white oak. It’s truly the single malt of tequila and unlike any you’ve ever tasted before.”
Partida Roble Fino’s three expressions include a Reposado, Reposado Cristalino and Añejo:
Partida Roble Fino Reposado begins with Partida’s Reposado, which is aged for a minimum of 6 months in ex-bourbon barrels before aging an additional 2 months in ex-single malt, sherry seasoned casks. Bottled at 43% ABV, the result is an intense and complex spirit with a brilliant amber color and notes of cooked agave, vanilla, maple syrup, anise quince and dried fruits.
Partida Roble Fino Reposado Cristalino is the first-ever Reposado Cristalino finished in ex-single malt, sherry seasoned casks. Following its double aging in ex-bourbon and ex-single malt, sherry seasoned casks, the Reposado Cristalino is naturally filtered to remove all color while retaining its defined body and the complex flavors and aromas achieved through the double maturation process. Finished at 40% ABV, the Reposado Cristalino features flavors of dried fruits, cooked agave and toasted oak, vanilla, and almonds.
Partida Roble Fino Añejo begins with Partida’s highly acclaimed Añejo which is aged for an extensive 18 months in ex-bourbon barrels. Featuring an outstanding gold color with a reddish shimmer, this intensely flavored tequila continues its finishing for an additional 5 months in ex-single malt, sherry seasoned casks. The tequila is bottled at 45% ABV, showcasing its expansive complexity and depth of flavor with sweet notes of dried fruits, toasted oak, chocolate and cooked agave.

As of September 16, Roble Fino will be available in New York, California, Florida, Illinois and Texas, with additional markets to follow.
