Terra Bistro at Vail Mountain Lodge

Terra Bistro

Terra Bistro has been at the center of the Vail bar and dining scene for years. Its status as one of the ski town’s best places for a high-end meal, and the drinks that come with it, were rarely questioned. Nonetheless, the Vail Mountain Lodge’s restaurant has managed to find another level this ski season, and the bottles behind the bar only go to prove that its looking to reach another echelon past its already stellar reputation among Vail Village visitors.

The fun starts at 5pm every night, when a sixty minute happy hour delivers a variety of appetizers for a fraction of their usual price, along with cheap two ingredients mixed drinks, beers, and glasses of wine. The Baked Ricotta with apricot mostarda, lamb Merguez sausage, and garlic toast for $7 is a must get and the $9 Vitality Greens salad is a full meal that’s ideal for anyone looking to eat something healthy. If you’re looking for something a little bit edgier, we recommend the $11 Tuna Poke Terra Tots. Meanwhile, visitors can get Tito’s Vodka, Beefeater Gin, or Johnny Walker Red for just $6 along with a free mixser. There are also a variety of other drinks available, including $3 Coors (both Light and Banquet), and glasses of wine run $8.

Come 6pm full dinner service begins to fill the space and things only become more luxurious. The menu is heart meals that pay careful attention to any possible food allergies. Out favorites include cornmeal crusted trout, wagyu new york strip, and lamb chops. Many of the happy hour dishes are featured on the appetizer portion of the menu and, of course, there is a selection of mouth-watering dessert options.

When it comes to handcrafted cocktails, Terra Bistro is no slouch. The Daywalker (Woody Creek Rye Whiskey, Canton ginger liqueur, lemon, ginger simple) and Herb Your Enthusiasm (Jory’s Gin, blood orange syrup, cucumber, basil, lime) are house favorites, and you can’t steer yourself wrong by ordering any of the delicious dessert cocktails that are on offer.

If you’re looking for fine dining or one of Vail Village’s best happy hours, Terra Bistro is the spot. From delicious dishes to creative cocktails, this ski town legend continues to deliver some of the finest stuff around.
