Soho Bars Group (Freedom Bar, Soho Residence) have announced the launch of their most impressive venue to date, The Act. Opening late March 2022, the West London venue will serve up an all-singing, all-dancing programme of live entertainment, cocktails and dining.

Located in the heart of Notting Hill, guests can expect live vocals from London’s top chanteurs, as well as regular pop-up performances by casts from the latest West End productions. To the surprise and delight of their guests, The Act’s talented bar team will top up glasses before breaking into a classic live number. No two evenings will be the same with each visit promising to be a night to remember at what looks set to be West London’s most popular theatre bar.

The space will feature deep green interiors, heavy velvet upholstery and maximalist wallpaper with exotic animal motifs throughout. The Act will have 180 covers, with a bar and banquette seating to relax at and enjoy the proceedings. There will be weekly theatrical brunch parties on Saturdays and Sundays with rotating feel-good themes.

The Act’s show stopping cocktail menu designed by Benji Purslow, European Ambassador for Heaven Hill Distillery, includes EIphaba (Bombay Gin, Agwa Coca Leaf Liqueur, Apple, Cucumber, Mint) and Elder Price (a twist on the Espresso Martini with Bacardi Spiced Rum, Mr Blacks Coffee Liqueur, Fresh Coffee, Cherry Liqueur, and homemade vanilla syrup).

The food menu has been curated by the team from acclaimed Richmond restaurant Chatora, who showcase authentic Indian cuisine with a contemporary twist. With a selection of small plates to choose from, highlights include Semolina shells with pomegranate, honey yoghurt, Paneer Tikka, and Quail Keema Naan.

The project is led by the founders of Soho Bars Group, Siobhan McGill and Keith Todd. With over 70 years of experience in hospitality combined, McGill and Todd are stalwarts of Soho nightlife and bring with them a wealth of knowledge and expertise. Additionally, McGill was also involved in the execution of The Cross Keys (Chelsea), the Pheasantry Kings Road with Ken Todd, Beach Blanket Babylon Notting Hill Gate with Tony Weller and Carmel azzopardi, returning to join Todd with the opening of many late night bars before selling to Chorion Plc later known as Novus Leisure Plc. Joining them on their latest venture is Michael Belle, who has led operations at iconic London establishments, including Soho Bars for Todd & McGill.

Set to be one of the most interesting West London openings in recent times, the theatre is open nightly.

The Act is located at 126-128 Notting Hill Gate, London, W11 3QG. It is open Monday through Thursday from 4pm to 12am, Friday 2pm to 12am, Saturday 12pm to 12am, and Sunday 12 – 10pm.
