The Ardbeg Smoke Sessions finds the Islay distillery teaming up with presenter and barbecue enthusiast Christian Stevenson (aka DJ BBQ) for a series of virtual cooking classes.
During the cooking masterclasses, DJ BBQ will guide spirits lovers through the basics of creating smokey and flavourful barbecue dishes along with Whisky cocktails made from Ardbeg Ten, An Oa and Wee Beastie to serve with them.
In the first episode of Ardbeg Smoke Sessions, DJ BBQ teaches viewers how to cook salmon on a Whisky cask. He complements the dish with a Bloody Mary cocktail inspired by An Oa.
Beginning on Friday, July 24, whisky lovers will be able to tune into live sessions for themselves via Ardbeg’s Instagram. And over the course of the series, Stevenson will teach viewers how to cook “low and slow”, how to cook the perfect steak, and much more.
“My smoky barbecue recipes share so many characteristics with the flavours of Ardbeg whisky and they complement each other perfectly,” Stevenson explains about the partnership.
“Remember, patience is key to maximise that wonderful flame-grilled flavour, it’s only done when it’s done. The Ardbeg Smoke Sessions series will show you that it’s easy to go beyond the realms of basic barbecue burgers with a little creativity and a ton of smoky goodness.”
The Smoke Sessions will be accessible via Ardbeg’s social channels, including Youtube, Instagram, and Facebook.
