To celebrate National Margarita Day, The Lost Explorer Mezcal has partnered with agave specialist bar Hacha to reimagine the award-winning Mirror Margarita, curated by founder and acclaimed mixologist Deano Moncrieffe.
The new twist on this iconic Margarita cocktail is championed by the flavor profile of the award-winning Espadín varietal from The Lost Explorer Mezcal. Hand-crafted from 100% agave, cultivated in Oaxaca, Mexico, the Espadin offers an ideal flavor profile to create a fresh and green margarita.
The resulting cocktail features notes of delicate fresh green herbs, raw agave and a gentle sweet, fruity finish. The Lost Explorer Espadín is gracefully brought to the fore by Moncrieffe, revealing its great depth and complexity. Kaffir lime, smoked sea salt and a hint of eucalyptus are carefully balanced with The Lost Explorer Espadín and Hacha’s unique sour mix, giving the cocktail its unique taste. The end product is crystal-clear with an elegantly clean finish and a moreish hint of underlying smoke and salt.
The Mirror Margarita is Hacha’s signature serve and was awarded Cocktail of the Year 2020 at CLASS Bar Awards and recognised as the 7th Best Cocktail in the World by Time Out.
The Mezcal Mirror Margarita is available to buy in 500ml bottles at Hacha’s official website and is available for delivery across the United Kingdom, thanks to the bar’s 48-hour delivery service. It will also be available by the glass once the venue re-opens. Each bottle provides four serves and is enjoyed by simply pouring over ice in a rocks glass.

Earlier this month, The Lost Explorer Mezcal won the Taste Master award at the Tequila & Mezcal Masters 2021, the competition’s top prize. On top of the Taste Master trophy, which was awarded to The Lost Explorer Mezcal’s Salmiana, the brand also picked up a Gold medal for its Tobala and a Silver for its Espadin.
