Thirsty Crow

Thirsty Crow

Sunset Boulevard was once known for rock ‘n’ roll, whiskey, and hard nights, and the Thirsty Crow is one of the few bars that still carries that ethos–even if it’s much further east than the originals. There’s still a bit of stale cigarette in the air and a Father John Misty song references the saloon-style Silver Lake drinkery’s penchant for debauchery. Over 100 whiskeys are on offer and the crowd tends to be made up of musicians and locals.

What’s the crowd like?
All sorts and all ages seem to find their way into this Sunset Boulevard saloon, but it’s not a place for unseasoned drinkers. People inside tend to know their whiskey and the bartenders know how to handle themselves around a rougher edged crowd, even if most of the visitors are of a more hipster variety.

What am I drinking?
American whiskey and probably best if you’re leaning towards bourbon as the Thirsty Crow has over 60 different small batch bottlings to choose from. Classic whiskey cocktails are also a great choice.

Is there anything to eat?
Nope.

When should I get here?
Before or after a show (preferably at Los Globos, Silverlake Lounge, or The Echo/plex), or if you’re simply looking to get up to some trouble.

Why am I here?
You like rock ‘n’ roll and whiskey and you don’t mind feeling a bit dirty. If you’re looking for a quiet conversation, this isn’t the place, but if raucous energy is your vibe and you don’t mind your biker bars on the hipster side, this is your spot.
