There are few things in life that work as well together as fresh shellfish and a bottle of wine. That’s what makes the simple concept behind Triton Craft Beer and Oyster Bar so appealing. Bottles of red, white, and rose fill the storefront allowing visitors to peruse options to bring home or drink in store. A wall of fridges carries similar selections, so those looking to escape warm weather have something immediately drinkable while they wait for their food to arrive.
Located in the heart of Beach Haven, this Long Beach Island hot spot is just steps from the town’s go-to places. It is located just off the main strip, meaning smaller crowds, but don’t be fooled on rainy or particularly hot days, Triton is filled to the gills with loyal customers and fresh faces.
Large community tables are spread throughout the bar and eatery’s vast interior, making it an ideal place for large groups or to make new friends. Triton carries fresh oysters, clams, peel-and-eat shrimp, as well as a massive seafood tower that lets your try more than a bite of everything. There are also lobster rolls, wood-fired pizzas, and, our personal favorite, a crab grilled cheese.
A rotating selection of draft beers is written on a chalkboard behind the fresh seafood counter, letting hungry imbibers choose from some of the area’s finest frothy delights to pair with the impressive seafood selection. There is a happy hour from 3pm to 6pm, and the place opens at 1pm and closes between 9pm and 10pm depending on the day. It is an excellent stop for a group lunch, post work meet-up, or family dinner.
While there is no hard liquor on offer, the variety of wines and beers available more than make up for it and are even friendlier on the wallet. If you’re looking for fresh shellfish and bottle of wine or frothy beer, there are few spots on L.B.I. that can compare to Triton Craft Beer and Oyster Bar.
