Guatemalan Rum makers Zacapa have unveiled the final addition to its Heavenly Cask Collection, La Pasión – The Passion Cask. The fourth rum in the limited-edition series was created by Zacapa Master Blender Lorena Vázquez.
Zacapa La Pasión – The Passion Cask – celebrates the unique Pedro Ximénez sherry cask used during the Solera System ageing process. The brand’s unique process includes a multitude of cask types and styles selected by Lorena, to capture specific flavors and textures, as well as the ideal color.
The release is the final of four limited editions from the Zacapa Solera Gran Reserva in The Heavenly Cask collection, each celebrating one of the four special casks used during the ageing process. La Pasión follows La Doma – The Taming Cask, El Alma – The Soul Cask, and La Armonia – The Harmony Cask.

La Pasión expresses the lush Guatemalan landscape. It offers balanced notes of prunes, raisins, dates, rich vanilla, coffee, and chocolate that when combined create a truly delicious and mesmerising experience. The collection was crafted 2,300 metres above sea level in Zacapa’s ageing facility in the highlands of Quetzaltenango, Guatemala, known as The ‘House Above the Clouds.’
