Licor 43 Debuts Chocolate Flavor To Celebrate 75th Anniversary

Licor 43 Chocolate

Licor 43 has added a limited-edition chocolate flavor to celebrate its 75th Anniversary. The release follows the launch of the Zamora Company brand’s vegan Horchata liqueur last year.

Licor 43 Chocolate combines the liqueur’s 43-ingredient original with 100% sustainably-sourced cocoa. According to the company, Licor 43 and chocolate was a popular combination in Spain in the 1970s and 1980s, and today many of the brand’s cocktail creations include chocolate as one of their ingredients.

“Just like coffee, chocolate has long had its place in Licor 43’s story,” says Julian Fernandez, global marketing and innovation director for spirits at Zamora Company. “Since 2017, we have worked with Danish chocolatier Anthon Berg for their Licor 43-flavoured bonbons, and ever since we joined the world of social media we have found that our posts involving chocolate desserts with Licor 43 are among the most successful interactions we have with our consumers. Our mission is to bring excitement, dynamism and passion to the liqueur category, attracting new consumers around the world with innovative drinks releases.”

Additionally, the brand is supporting the activities of the Cocoa Horizons Foundation, which aims to improve the livelihoods of cocoa farmers and their communities.

Bottled at 16% ABV, Licor 43 Chocolate is priced at €22.99 ($27 USD) in the Netherlands and will be available for a limited time globally.

Over the past year and a half, Licor 43 has also been busy adding to its RTD line, which it launched with two flavors, lemon and berry, back in the summer of 2020. Since then, it has rolled out the coffee-flavored Carajillo and an Apple variant, as well as Milk and Nitro & Coffee
