Champagne Laurent-Perrier Debuts Grand Siècle Iteration No. 25

Champagne Laurent-Perrier Grand Siècle Iteration N° 25

Laurent-Perrier has unveiled its Grand Siècle Iteration No. 25. The rare prestige Champagne is created using a blend of three exceptional vintages that are thought to be complementary in character.

Champagne Laurent-Perrier Grand Siècle Iteration No. 25 is an assemblage of vintage years 2008 (65%), 2007 (25%), and 2006 (10%). It is made from 60% Chardonnay and  40%Pinot Noir. The sparkling wine is made from a selection of 9 of Champagne’s 17 Grands Crus: the Chardonnay grapes came from Cramant, Avize, Oger, and Le Mesnil-sur-Oger; while the Pinot Noir grapes hail from Ambonnay, Bouzy, Verzy, Tours-sur-Marne, and Mailly. It is aged for 12 years on the lees.

The 2008 vintage is noted for its structure with high quality Chardonnays and Pinots Noirs revealing an outstanding aromatic richness. 2007 is noted for its freshness, the Chardonnays are complex with aromas of white fruits and citrus and the Pinots Noirs are fruity with a dominance of yellow fruit. The 2006 vintage is known for its finesse with rich, complex Chardonnays and Pinots Noirs with red fruit aromas.

Bright white gold in color, the Grand Siècle Iteration No. 25 offers an intense nose of fresh citrus fruits followed by subtle aromas of grilled almonds and brioche. The wine has a fresh and toasted attack. The finish is persistent with notes of citrus fruit.

Laurent-Perrier has been developing Grand Siècle since 1959, but 2019 was the first year that the iteration number was marked on the bottle. Just 25 iterations of Grand Siècle have been created since the series launched.
