Maison Ferrand Celebrates Year of the Rabbit With Premier Cru 10 Générations Cognac

Maison Ferrand Premier Cru 10 Générations Year of the Rabbit

Maison Ferrand is celebrating the Year of the Rabbit with a special Lunar New Year limited-edition release, Premier Cru 10 Générations Cognac. The double-matured bottling is a tribute to 10 generations of the Ferrand family.

Bottled at 88 proof (44% ABV) as a nod to the number eight, which is lucky in Chinese culture, Ferrand 10 Générations Port Cask first aged in French oak barrels, before a second maturation in Port barrels.

On the nose, aromas of pastries alongside vanilla, caramel, almond, apricot, and coconut, evolve into rose, orange blossom. and nutmeg. The rich and round palate features a creamy texture reminiscent of white chocolate, along with hints of baked pear, vanilla, roasted chestnut, honey, and cinnamon. The long and creamy finish finds notes of figs, plum, bergamot, nutmeg, liquorice, and vanilla.

Packaged in a red and gold-detailed bottle, both the bottle and box feature roots that depict the profiles of all 10 generations of the Ferrand family, as well as a “special guest” to honor the Year of the Rabbit.

Maison Ferrand Premier Cru 10 Générations Cognac is priced at £44 ($54 USD) per 750ml bottle. For more information, head over to the brand’s official website.

In September, the company’s rum brand, Plantation, unveiled its latest limited edition rum, Guyana 2007. The bottling celebrates marine animals native to traditional rum regions. In the winter of 2020, Maison Ferrand announced it will create the “world’s first” floating cellar.
