Dalmore Celebrates Young Scottish Artists With Portfolio Series

Dalmore Portfolio Series

Highland distillery Dalmore and design museum V&A Dundee have teamed up on a new whisky collection that highlights the work of young Scottish artists, the Portfolio Series.

The Dalmore has collaborated with design museum V&A Dundee to highlight the work of budding Scottish artists with the launch of the Portfolio Series. The first segment of the new series, exclusively available for global travel retail (GTR), will comprise three distinct single malts.

Bringing together artists and whisky makers from around Scotland, this year’s edition will feature the work of Edinburgh artist Fraser Gray and his inspiration drawn from Dalmore’s highland distillery.

Avolta’s category manager for UK-based liquor, Paul Martin, stated: “We were extremely proud to be able to offer this exceptional Dalmore Portfolio Series in our Heathrow World Duty Free stores, as a one-month exclusive in GTR, ahead of its rollout across the sector.

“We’re always looking for innovative and unique products for our customers and it’s exciting to be able to offer such exceptional whiskies such as these. The creative partnership between The Dalmore and the V&A Dundee, showcasing the work of talented local Scottish artists, takes this collection of whiskies to another level, while delivering that all-important sense of heritage and place.”

Portfolio Series No 1 (46.8% ABV) features notes of lemon drizzle cake, honey, and vanilla. It was aged in Bordeaux wine casks and is limited to 5,000 bottles.

Portfolio Series No 2 (46% ABV) offers aromas of grapefruit, ginger and vanilla, and a palate of crushed almonds, sultanas and liquorice. It was aged in wine casks from Châteauneuf-du-Pape and is limited to 2,000 bottles.

Portfolio Series No 3 delivers notes of forest fruits, cedar wood, dark cacao and bergamot. It was finished in casks from an ‘iconic vineyard’ classified as Premier Grand Cru and is limited to 1,000 bottles ($1,250).

“The Dalmore is enjoying continued consumer demand, especially in GTR,” sais Whyte & Mackay’s commercial controller Joanne Morris. “We are particularly proud to unveil this exceptional trio of whiskies, with the beautiful creativity of Fraser Gray. The partnership with Avolta and London Heathrow is of strategic importance to us, as we seek to push the boundaries of the channel. The Dalmore Portfolio Series is set to offer global travelers another truly memorable experience, for which The Dalmore has become known.”

The Dalmore Portfolio Series is exclusively available with Avolta retailers. It made its debut at Heathrow in September and will be available at global duty free stores in other international airports come October. For more information, head over to the distillery’s official website.

Dalmore and the V&A Dundee have a four-year long partnership and most recently worked with one another on the second chapter of the Luminary series.
