Halewood Artisanal Spirits has expanded its portfolio with a vodka filtered through a gold silk thread – the latest addition to its JJ Whitley range.

The UK-based company unveiled the drink which it’s calling, JJ Whitley Gold Vodka.

Distilled in St. Petersburg, Russia, the spirit is made with wheat and water before being passed through a filter of gold silk thread.

“The new J.J Whitley Gold Artisanal Russian Vodka takes our double gold award-winning Artisanal Russian Vodka to even greater heights,” explains the brand. “We use the very best quality Russian winter wheat and water from our Artisan well to distil J.J Whitley Vodka.

“It then goes through a unique process whereby it slowly passes through a filter of the most exemplary gold silk thread, elevating this premium and smooth tasting vodka and providing a new tasting experience and bottle worth sharing.”

Offered in a ‘dazzling gold’ bottle, it is complete with distinctive embossing.

Speaking on the new drink James Stocker, marketing director of Halewood Artisanal Spirits, said:

“For those looking to treat themselves or find something special to mark a celebration, or even as a great gift option, we’re confident our vodka will present a strong sales opportunity for retailers this summer.

“We have been investing heavily in our JJ Whitley vodka portfolio and our new distillery in St Petersburg, which enables us to provide our customers with a quality, authentic Russian vodka at [a] great price point.”

The gold variant sits at 38% ABV, and is now available to order through Booker for RRP £16 (US$22.54).

In November last year, Halewood opened a new £5 million (US$6.5m) distillery in Russia for JJ Whitley vodka.
