This eighteen-seat Japanese whisky bar located within Seven Grand Los Angeles offers one of Los Angeles’ great places to try the oft-praised, but hard-to-find liquor from the Land of the Rising Sun. Reservations are pretty much a must at Bar Jackalope, especially considering how many private parties book the tiny space. There’s also a small cigar patio for those looking to catch some fresh air or pair their whisky.

What’s the crowd like?
The crowd at Bar Jackalope varies by the night, but–unless there’s a private party–generally expect people with some cash to throw around or with a particular appreciation for the bar’s favorite spirit style.
What am I drinking?
Ummmmm… Japanese whisky? But you could also order a cocktail, most of which are excellent. Probably just get both.
Is there anything to eat?
Nope. Like Seven Grand, there’s no food here, but there are plenty of options nearby as well as downstairs.
When should I get here?
Bar Jackalope tends to get packed early when it’s not already booked out, so it’s probably best to gather a few friends and get a reservation for a night that works for all of you… and one where none of you have any commitments the morning after.
Why am I here?
You’re here to drink some of DTLA’s best cocktails, but even more so to enjoy some hard-to-find Japanese whisky.
