Handshake Speakeasy In Mexico City Named Best Bar in North America 2024

Mexico City’s glittering bar scene now sits atop North America’s cocktail world as Handshake Speakeasy was named the Best Bar in North America by 50 Best Bars.

50 Best Bars’ unveiling of its 2024 list of the 50 Best Bars in North America, finds Mexico City’s Handshake Speakeasy grabbing the best bar crown. The award ceremony took place last night at Rosewood San Miguel de Allende, Mexico and ranked bars from across the continent, including the USA, Canada, Mexico and the Caribbean.

Following in second place and topping the chart as the best bar in the United States is New York City’s Superbueno, which also claims the title of Highest New Entry. New York City’s Overstory follows at No.3. Toronto’s Civil Liberties, No.21, grabbed the title of The Best Bar in Canada, while Puerto Rico’s La Factoría, at No.18, was named The Best Bar in the Caribbean.
