Clemente Bar Is The Latest Innovation From NYC’s Eleven Madison Park

Clemente Bar NYC

The Eleven Madison Park team has opened Clemente Bar above its three Michelin star restaurant in New York’s Flatiron District

The team behind New York City dining icon Eleven Madison Park has opened Clemente Bar atop the three-Michelin-starred establishment. The new Flatiron District bar will offer a cocktail menu designed by the restaurant’s beverage director, Sebastian Tollius.

Taking its name from neo-expressionist artist Francesco Clemente, who provided three large-scale artworks for the space–including a ceiling fresco near the entrance–Clemente Bar features interiors designed by Allied Works’ Brad Cloepfil, who oversaw Eleven Madison Park’s renovation in 2017. There is space for a total of 38 visitors inside the space, including eight at The Counter.

The cocktail menu is broken down into six sections: Fresh, Carbonated, Clarified, Whipped, Bold, and Zero Proof/Low Alc. Each section includes about three cocktails, like the Fresh section’s Apples To Oranges (Don Fulano Reposado Tequila, Calvados, Blood Orange Amaro, Spiced Mandarin), The Harvest Highball (Toki Japanese Whisky, Pale Cream, Coffee & Pistachio, Tonka) in Carbonated category, The Negroni Colada (lanteray Cut & Dry Rum, Luxardo Bitter Bianco, blanco vermouth and pineapple) in the Clarified section, And the Against The Grain (The Macallan 12 Sherry Oak, Amontillado Sherry, shochu, barley and plantain miso) an Old Fashioned riff that can be found in the Bold section.

An entirely plant-based food menu will also be available. Diner may choose between a $225 prix-fixe menu with cocktail pairing at The Counter or a variety of bar snacks, including avocado pockets with sushi rice and finger lime as well as an agedashi dog with fried tofu and black truffle and a and ‘thrice-fried’ potato with rosemary, lemon and pommery mayo.

Earlier this month, New York City got three new bars: The Bedford in FiDi, Dear Irving’s third location (this one is in Midtown), and Monkey Thief threw open its doors in Hell’s Kitchen.
